NEITI reveals how NNPC conspired with Swiss firms to defraud Nigeria of $6.8billion

Contrary to the claims by the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Andrew Yakubu that the corporation did not team up with some Swiss oil dealers to defraud the country of $6.8, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, NEITI, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed has said his claim was untrue.
According to Ahmed, the corporation did not disclose the sum of $22.8 in its audited financial statements through alternative funding arrangement with its joint venture partners.
Nigeria had reportedly lost about $6.8billion as of 2013 to the connivance, which the ‘Bernes Declaration’ said involved the sale of Nigeria’s crude oil below international prices.
While testifying before the House of Representatives Joint Committees on Petroleum Resources, Upstream and Downstream, probing the allegation, Ahmed alleged that the country lost N98.3 billion to NNPC in exchange rates compared to Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN official exchange rate between the period.
Speaking further, Ahmed also frowned at the allocation of 445,000 barrels per day for local refineries through the NNPC saying that, “the 445,000 barrels per day allocation should be reviewed to the actual refining capacity of the refineries”
she said that the Managing Director of the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC), Mr Haruna Momoh told the Committee that Nigeria was not losing $8 billion annually through swap arrangement of crude oil between NNPC and some foreign oil companies.
Committee Chairman, Honourable Ajibola Muraina while ruling on the issue adjourned the investigative hearing till March 25.
He also directed the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Director, Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Acting Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Executive Secretary of Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA among others to appear before the Committee on March 25.

'Prayer request for my father Justice CA Oputa' - Charly Boy

Ever since I can remember, I have always admired my parents. Even in their old age, I still see them holding hands every day. As a young lad in the early 50s, I saw dad and mum dance a lot, as if they were rehearsing for a dance competition. They argued a lot and laughed a lot, I just couldn't tell anymore when they were quarrelling or playing. There was a lot of love in my family, for a long time, my folks were like two teenagers in love, there was so much kissing between them that I came to accept that as a show of love and wanted to kiss every girl I fancied. They loved to entertain, so we continuously had guest come over. I grew up believing that every day was some ‘kinda’ celebration. Some of the things that molded me were not only my father’s regimental training and how he was always quick with the cane, but his love for my mum also had a great impart on me. This is the setting, the background of love I am coming from, my pedigree, my rich heritage. It is my pride.

’I think Samuel is not 35. He is 39. Samuel was born in 1974 and so that makes him 39 now.’
The Italian hairdresser says she was informed of the sport stars true age by a friend who grew up with Eto’o in Cameroon.

Michael Adebolajo Sentenced For Life Over Murder Of British Soldier

Justice Sweeney of the central London Court has sentenced British-born Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale to life imprisonment over the gruesome murder of 25-year-old soldier Lee Rigby. Adebolajo began yelling “that’s a lie” and “Allah akbar” as Justice Sweeney detailed how they had betrayed their religion. The British-born Muslim extremists also warned Britain and America “will never be safe” as they were violently wrestled to the ground by nine security men in the central London court. Adebolajo, 29, was given a life sentence and Adebowale, 22, life with a minimum of 45 years, the sentencing made in their absence after they were dragged from the court to cells below where they could be heard yelling and banging on the walls. The men ran Fusilier Rigby down in a car as he crossed a street near Woolwich barracks in south East London in May last year before they stood over him and hacked him to death to the point of decapitation.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, on Thursday said President Goodluck Jonathan did not do anything illegal by suspending Mallam Lamido Sanusi as the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria.
He told State House correspondents that the CBN Act being referred to only talks of removal and not suspension.
“He who hires also has the power to suspend,” Abati said.
Although he said he was not aware of any plan to arrest Sanusi, the presidential spokesman said under the enabling Act, where an indictment is established, the law will take its course.

we shall soon see the end of this...

NNPC MUST BE TAMED NOW !!!!

Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Lamido Sanusi

thought to share this with you guys so you can have idea of where this country is heading to if we the youth don't start to act now !

WHO authorised the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to unilaterally subsidise the price of kerosene? Unable to satisfactorily answer this simple question, the corporation and its backers in government have been dishing out unconvincing justifications and rebukes to its critics. But the emerging picture is that of a state-owned agency that operates unencumbered by checks or censure and where corruption and impunity have reached unimaginable levels.
At the heart of the latest scandal is money accruable to the Federation Account that, according to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi, ought to have been remitted by the NNPC. Revising his earlier estimates, Sanusi told the Senate Committee on Finance that NNPC had failed to account for $20 billion of the $67 billion realised from crude oil sales. Since the issue of missing funds cropped up, the NNPC, the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and, curiously, the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, have been at pains to debunk the claims. After meetings among them, including Sanusi and the Director of Budget, Bright Okogu, to “reconcile the accounts,” CBN now agrees that $47 billion has been accounted for. While Sanusi had initially insisted that $12 billion was still unaccounted for, Okonjo-Iweala and NNPC only agreed that $10.8 billion (N1.68 trillion at N156 to US$1) was yet to be “reconciled.” Later, the NNPC claimed it had “legitimately” spent about 80 per cent or $8.76 billion (N1.366 trillion) on kerosene subsidy, partly on petrol subsidy and the rest on repairs to damaged pipelines.

General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly and former Vice Presidential candidate under the Congress for Progressive Change, Pastor Tunde Bakare has likened the leading opposition party, All Progressives Congress to the Church of Satan in a parable.
Tunde Bakare said, “APC is like a newly opened church of Satan with the evil as a Pastor which could not be distinguished by Nigerians from a true living Godly Church and hence could be mistaken for a real Church, even when it was made of thieves (Legitimate Pen Robbers), that is why they ganged up against Local Government fiscal Autonomy using crumbs from stolen accumulated wealth to bribe their thievery colleagues at Federal and State house of Assembly.
“It is very clear that 5 Governors of APC in the west is far richer than their state and they have looted every penny from their state purse. People should be careful of this Rogues,” he added.

David Moyes must find some new ideas but deserves chance to prove himself at Manchester United

David Moyes must find some new ideas but deserves chance to prove himself at Manchester United

For Man Utd Fans, i got this and thought to share it with you guys.
David Moyes was at Carrington early on Monday, trying to jump-start the stalled Manchester United machine in time for the trip to the Emirates on Wednesday.
The supporters are anguished, the staff are suffering and so is Moyes. Nobody associated with Manchester United will be hurting more than David Moyes.
He has striven hard throughout his managerial career for an opportunity as great as this. He takes infinite pride in his work, is meticulous in his preparation, and he loathes setbacks, particularly those pockmarking his nascent Old Trafford career.
Defeated on 10 occasions under Moyes, United have mislaid that triumphant blend of swagger and obstinacy that was their trademark under Sir Alex Ferguson.

No Foreign Tech Assistant For Keshi, Says NFF

Well, news reaching us few minutes ago claimed NFF might have rescind their decision to hire a foreign Techinical Adviser as an assistant to Steven keshi.
Chairman of Media and Publicity Committee of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Emeka Inyama has said that there is no way a foreign technical assistant will be employed to assist the Chief Coach of the Super Eagles as the country prepares for the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup.
“To put the record straight, we cannot afford a foreign technical assistant for Coach Keshi now. There is nothing like that in the plans of the football federation and I want to say that it can’t be true. How can we make a move to get someone to boss Keshi at this point in time?” said Inyama on Brila FM early today.
Meanwhile, a member of the Technical Committee of the NFF, Paul Bassey, however, disclosed that instead of getting a foreign technical assistant for Keshi, the NFF will get a local assistant for the coach, but ruled out a recall of sacked Slyvanus Okpala who was relieved of his job as Keshi’s assistant because of indiscipline after the Super Eagles won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa last year.
“Okpala remains sacked, even if we’ll get a local assistant for Keshi,” said Bassey. “He was sacked for indiscipline. Unfortunately he hasn’t shown any remorse or apologised for his action. Though we are looking at getting a local assistant for Keshi, it won’t be Okpala,” said spokesman of the NFF Technical Committee.

You Are Allergic To Democracy, APC Tells PDP

                                     apc-pdp_02

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the PDP’s sponsored sabotage of its (APC) ongoing membership registration exercise in several states of the federation and its rush to condemn the process have shown the ruling party as a cog in the wheel of democracy.
In a statement issued in Lagos yesterday by its national publicity secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said since one of the ways to truncate democracy is by stifling popular participation, the PDP as a party stands accused of working to truncate Nigeria’s democracy by its campaign of lies against the APC membership registration.
It said the only reason the PDP called a hurried press conference to disparage another party’s membership registration exercise is because the ruling party had seen the handwriting on the wall, since the registration started, and had consequently become jittery.
“The PDP is wrong about its claim that the APC is engaging in phantom registration. The party should know that while anyone can manufacture numbers, no one can manufacture human beings. Therefore, in the fullness of time, any party that gives a fake number of its membership will get its comeuppance.
However, the PDP yesterday said the extension of the membership resgitartion of APC is indicative of rejection by Nigerians of the party.
In a statement by its national publicity secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, PDP said: “This is the first sign of rejection for the boastful APC.  It is a clear indication that the party is neither on ground nor does it command the followership its claims.”
